On Sunday, April 30, 2017, I gave a presentation on the evolution of insects at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. The session was well attended (and many insightful questions were asked). For those who might be interested, I provide a handout of my slides. While I did not cover all aspects, I wanted to make certain that everyone present had a chance to learn about their favorite group of insects (this is why I provided many more slides that I actually used during the presentation. I focused on moths and butterflies, beetles, grasshoppers and their relatives, and dragonflies and damselflies (after discussing the main points). Many thanks to my grandsons for helping with the timeline.
If you have questions, please post them in the comments. If you wish to learn more about insects, I encourage you to become a member of the entomology section of the Peoria Academy of Science.
