Ok, I admit it, I love technology. Can’t wait to get my hands on the latest stuff. This is a large part of the reason I bought a Mac a short while ago. My Lytro camera arrived today. I have done a little experimenting. Here is one image. You can click on any area to focus. You should also be able to view in full screen mode.

What I find most amazing is how incredibly simple it is to use this camera. It plugs into your Mac (Windows version coming soon). You install the software, unplug your camera and plug it in again and you can see the photos taken. Yes, the camera comes partially charged. I know the instructions say to fully charge first, but I… couldn’t… wait.
The code on the Lytro site is HTML5. It does default to the Flash Player (for those devices which support the Flash Player). For those who like little touches, view the source code for my linked photos at the Lytro site – scroll down a bit and you will find an interesting “Easter Egg” from Lytro. Ok, I thought it was fun anyway. I think I am going to have fun with this camera over the summer. This is all the more meaningful to me since my vision is still shot from my detached retina. This means I really can’t tell if something is in focus in the camera or not. Of course, with this camera, it really doesn’t matter.
