I am indebted to the Lynda.com training videos for these ideas and help with the code. In this example (again based on a Lynda.com example), I took the Pixel Bender effect and applied it to a simple photo editor. You can now upload your own photo (keep it relatively small) and run the effect on your image. You can then save the image as a PNG file to your local hard drive. I have tested this a bit, but use it at your own risk. Examine the linked example and upload your photo to apply the waterfall effect. Hope this gives you some idea of the interesting things one can do in Flash. Yes, we will cover some of this in the CMWEB 225 Flash (and Actionscript) class in the Spring, 2010 semester.
