Fossil insect from Brazil

This is a fossil insect. It was found in northeastern Brazil. It is many millions of years old (and is a species of an extinct group of grasshoppers). What other group of animals were alive when this insect died? Yes, those animals are mostly extinct today as well (although one group still has roughly 10,000 species alive today).

When you think you know the answer, just complete the contact form and indicate your are solving puzzler number 5. Again, if you are the first to submit a correct answer (as long as you were in one of my insect sessions at Art and Science in the Woods 2022), you are eligible for a prize.
